The Thomas Jefferson Speech and Debate Team qualified 6 people to the national tournament this year.  Isaiah Parker and Danielle Spampinato won duo interp,  Jessica Stocks won dramatic interp,  Erin Lopez won original oratory, and Anthony Boler placed second in humorous interpretation.  Finally, Amy Colvin qualified in Student Congress.  Last year when TJ won state for the second consecutive year we only sent two people on to nationals.
 

Congratulations to the newest members of the Thomas Jefferson Speech and Debate Hall of Fame: Paul Vronsky and Ben Cassidy.  Paul was a 1999 graduate who won state in impromptu speaking and qualified for nationals in extemporaneous speaking.  Paul also competed in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Student Congress.  Ben was a 1995 graduate who competed for only one year yet won state in both of his events, expository speaking and impromptu.  This was only the second year of the fledgling TJ team, yet it placed third at state behind Ben.
